It was on the local news this morning about car hire and taxis in our towns.  There is a town that at the moment it is trying to bring in rig Shaw’s for hire.

This is the idea of a local taxi company owner.  He recently spent a bit of time in India where the rigs Shaw’s are the main kind of transport.  But at the moment he has two for hiring out.  There is no charge for these at the moment so what he is doing is as these rigs are driving around people can flag them down and once they reach their destination it is up to the person but they can donate money by putting the money in a charity box.  This charity box is attached to the side or the rig and all the money that is donated by these rides will be handed over to a local charity.

Even though these rigs are pedal power they also have a small motor engine in them to assist the drivers in going up the hills.  It’s an idea that might very well catch on.
